2. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Email address
  • Authentication identifiers provided through Firebase Authentication

Profile information

To provide nutrition calculations and personalised recommendations, we may collect:

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Height
  • Weight
  • Activity level
  • Nutrition goal (lose fat, maintain weight, gain muscle)

Nutrition and food diary information

When using the App, we may collect and store:

  • Food diary entries
  • Food items
  • Quantities and serving sizes
  • Calorie information
  • Macronutrient information
  • Meal history
  • User-created meals and recipes

Meal photographs

Users may upload or capture photographs of meals to use the App’s food recognition and meal logging features. Meal photographs are processed using artificial intelligence services to identify food items and estimate nutritional information. To support the food diary and meal history features, a reduced-size thumbnail of the meal photograph may be stored and associated with the user’s meal records.

Subscription information

For premium subscriptions, we may process:

  • Subscription status
  • Purchase validation information provided by Apple App Store or Google Play

We do not receive or store your payment card information.

Technical information

We may collect limited technical information necessary to operate and improve the App, including:

  • Device type
  • Operating system version
  • App version
  • Error and diagnostic information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Calculate calorie and nutrition recommendations
  • Personalise nutritional targets
  • Maintain your food diary and meal history
  • Provide AI-powered food recognition

4. AI food recognition

Siqo uses artificial intelligence services to analyse meal photographs and generate estimated nutritional information. When you choose to use AI-powered food recognition, meal photographs and related information may be transmitted to third-party AI service providers solely for the purpose of identifying food items and estimating calories and nutrients.

AI-generated results are estimates only and may not always be accurate. Users should independently verify important nutritional information and should not rely on AI-generated results as medical or professional advice.

5. Cloud synchronisation

Free users may store their data locally on their device. Premium users may choose to synchronise their data using cloud services provided through Google Firebase.

When synchronisation is enabled, nutrition records, meal history, user profile information, and meal thumbnails may be stored in cloud infrastructure to enable backup and multi-device access.

6. Third-party service providers

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the App. These providers may process personal information on our behalf. Examples include:

  • Firebase Authentication (user authentication)
  • Cloud Firestore (data storage and synchronisation)
  • Firebase Cloud Functions (backend processing)
  • Artificial intelligence providers used for meal analysis
  • Apple App Store (subscription management)
  • Google Play Store (subscription management)

These providers process data only to the extent necessary to provide their services.

For users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process personal information on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract (providing the App and its features)
  • Compliance with legal obligations
  • Legitimate interests, such as maintaining security, preventing abuse, and improving the App

Where required by law, we will request consent before processing specific information.

8. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the App and comply with legal obligations. Generally:

  • Account information is retained until account deletion.
  • Nutrition records and meal history are retained until account deletion or user deletion of individual records.
  • Meal thumbnails are retained while associated meal records exist.
  • Support communications may be retained for a reasonable period to resolve inquiries and comply with legal obligations.

9. Account deletion

Users may delete their account directly through the App settings. When an account is deleted:

  • Personal information stored in cloud services will be deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period.
  • Access to synchronised data will be removed.
  • Subscription cancellation must still be managed separately through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Some information may be retained where required by applicable law.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures to protect personal information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Restrict processing
  • Object to processing
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format

12. Children’s privacy

Siqo is not intended for children under the age of 16 without parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the “Last updated” date at the top of this document will be revised. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
